MEET OUR TEAM
About Karen Marley
Karen grew up in Beech Grove, Indiana. She attended Indiana University where she studied Psychology and Biology. Upon graduation, she moved to the Washington, DC area, where she enjoyed a career in pharmaceutical sales for 10 years. She then relocated as a Navy spouse to Jacksonville Beach. After a divorce and several career changes (including Law Enforcement), Karen found horses and was instantly hooked. Within a few years, she became an ER nurse, moved to a more rural setting, remarried, and purchased her first four horses (they really are like potato chips - you can't have just one)! She and her spouse, who is retired Navy and currently a Law Enforcement Officer, now live in rural Central Florida with their five horses, three dogs, and a small farm full of furry and feathered friends! She is now a Nurse Practitioner, but her true passion is Horse Medicine, Wellness & Life Coaching, and Personal Development with horses. She also draws on her experience in the corporate and Law Enforcement world to include Team Building programs to allow individuals in high-stress occupations the opportunity to step away from the grind and discover more about their colleagues and themselves.

MEET THE HORSES

Drifter Blue
Drifter Blue’s breed is unknown to us. His nickname is “Dragon” because he can certainly be challenging at times. But he is also an absolutely magical horse with an amazing ability to heal a broken spirit. He drifted into our herd just after the loss of a best friend. His beautiful, gentle spirit mended broken hearts, and his crazy, goofy antics brought laughter and smiles back....and he continues to make us laugh every single day!

LeRoy
LeRoy is an American Paint horse with tons of personality! He is super curious which means he often gets into trouble but he is so much fun to partner with! He loves to hang out with his best friend, Sniper (the mini horse) and his favorite treat is watermelon. LeRoy was orphaned at an early age, so he relied heavily on humans as a young horse. This likely contributes to his super sweet nature – although he is an important member of his herd, he is also happy to bond with his people! LeRoy's birthday is 6/10/2007.

Moose
Moose is an American Quarter Horse who is the quiet but solid, steady “rock” of our herd. It takes a while to win over her trust, but once you have it, she is fiercely loyal! Her birthday is 02/26/2007 and her favorite food is raw sweet potatoes! Moose is incredibly smart, and sometimes a bit stubborn, but she is the “alpha mare” of our herd - the one everyone looks to for strength and protection. No matter what, you can always count on Moose!

Sniper
Sniper is proof that big things come in small packages! He has a HUGE personality! If something is missing in the barn, he is most likely the one who “misplaced” it. He likes to untie your shoes and is generally very playful. He is LeRoy’s best friend – they are almost always together, and usually causing some barnyard shenanigans! Sniper’s birthday is 04/18/2011, and he has been with us since he was five months old.
