  • What Is Equine Assisted Coaching?
Equine Assisted Coaching is an effective approach to human development that encourages individual and team growth. Participants engage in interaction with horses in the natural environment of the horses. The horses hold a sacred space for participants, without judgement, leading to introspection and valuable personal growth in a fun and exciting atmosphere while working with horses. All exercises are performed on the ground; these are not riding programs. At Thunder's Run Ranch, we utilize the BuildingBlock™ Curriculum of facilitating life skills through positively reinforced interaction with horses. Exercises are developed to encourage self confidence through validated, hands-on experiences. Current research has found this experiential form of learning to be most effective.
  • What Can I Expect?
Unique program that allows our equine partners to facilitate an immediate change through experiential learning Objectives and outcomes tailored to your organization/group specific needs Internationally Certified Facilitators Researched and Proven BuildingBlock™ Program A fun, engaging day of hands-on skill building A beautiful, private farm in Central Florida
  • Is This A Horseback Riding Program?
Our programs are all done on the ground, there is no horseback riding involved.
  • Do You Require A Therapist To Be Present? Is This Therapy?
THIS IS NOT EQUINE THERAPY. Equine Facilitated Life Coaching at Thunder’s Run Ranch is not psychotherapy, counseling, advice, mental healthcare, or treatment for addiction. I am not a licensed mental health practitioner and do not present or act as such. Equine Facilitated Life Coaching is not a substitute or replacement for counseling, psychiatric interventions, treatment for mental illness, or professional medical advice. Life Coaching/Equine Assisted Life Coaching does not include assessments, diagnostics, treatment, or medication.
  • Do I Need Horse Experience?
Absolutely not! You will not be required to ride horses – all of our programs are designed to be experienced on the ground. This allows the horses to provide you authentic, immediate feedback as an equal partner or “herd member!” Safety is our highest priority and each participant will receive a safety orientation.
  • What If I'm Scared Or Don't Like Horses?
No worries! If you aren't being pushed out of your comfort zone, you aren't learning. This is an opportunity to overcome fears or preconceived notions. Some of the people who have attended our workshops have started out intimidated. By the end of the program, they have learned more about themselves, they have overcome their fears and walked out with life-altering results! And remember, your safety is our number one priority.
  • What Do I Need To Wear Or Bring?
Please dress appropriately for OUTDOOR activities and check the weather forecast for the day! Closed toed shoes are MANDATORY and you will not be allowed to participate without them For participants under 18, helmets will be provided (although we do not ride the horses, it’s important to protect our heads – safety is our number one priority!) Sunscreen and hats are recommended, rain jackets if appropriate Plenty of water and human snacks (because our horses are on special diets, we do not allow extra treats for them during the programs) Most importantly – bring a positive attitude and an open mind and be prepared to HAVE FUN!
  • Are You Certified & Insured?
Yes! We have been trained by and are certified through Equine Connection - The Academy of Equine Assisted Learning, and backed by The EAL Network a leading organization in this specific skills development program with horses. Additionally, we carry extensive liability insurance.
  • I'm Allergic!
Knowing is half the battle! Just be sure to take an antihistamine before you come. If you don’t know if you are allergic to horses, we have allergy medicine onsite.
